Giants OLB (and top trade candidate) says he hasn’t discussed extension with team

The Giants have not discussed an extension with Azeez Ojulari, the outside linebacker told NJ Advance Media after Sunday’s loss to the Commanders.
Ojulari has been a name to watch on the trade rumor mill recently due to how seamlessly he filled in for Kayvon Thibodeaux post-injury — 5.0 sacks and 16 total tackles in four games.

With the Giants sitting at 2-7, the trade deadline just two days away and Ojulari’s contract expiring at the end of the season, it’s easy to see why a contending team would want him. The Arizona Cardinals and Atlanta Falcons have both been linked to Ojulari, according to multiple reports.
Despite this, Ojulari said he’d like to stay with the team that drafted him in the second round (50th overall) of the 2021 NFL draft.
“Yeah, for sure,” Ojulari said, when asked if he’d like to stay with the Giants. “This is where I got drafted, I’m blessed to be here, blessed for the opportunity the Giants gave me. I’m trying to make the most of every (opportunity) I get.
“I’m locked in, really. I’m not focused on none of that stuff. I know it’s out there, but I’ve got to lock in on what’s going on.”
The Giants fell to the division rival Commanders (7-2) on Sunday, 27-22. They face the equally terrible Carolina Panthers (2-7) in Germany next week. Ojulari swears he’s “locked in” on that game, not the rumors.
“I’m watching the film tomorrow to see what we can improve on,” Ojulari said.
